NOMI
Tuesday, September 30 at 10:00 p.m.
Tickets: $15

Born and raised in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, side by side with the rebellious growth of Hip-Hop, Nomi began singing before she could speak in full sentences. Her deep, dreamy vocals found refuge in these raw arrangements, creating a unique blend of soul music. Now she dives into the underground to seek out sounds that deviated from top 40 commercial Hip-Hop and R&B. The result was Lost In Lust, an auto-biographical snap shot of life on the streets of Brooklyn. The record was self released under the Park Side Records label and is being compared to a union between Wu-Tang Clan’s The RZA on beats and Sade on vocals.  Since the album's release Nomi has toured Europe & the US with CocoRosie, opening for them to a sold out crowd at The Bowery Ballroom. She performed at stylist Patricia Field's residence for Fashion Week, toured Europe with Antony & The Johnsons as one of 13 NYC Beauties in the Turning Tour.   She has now joined New York Collective Hercules & Love Affair, whose self titled debut album is already being referred to as the dance album of the year. This modern dance record produced by DJ Andrew Butler features vocalists Antony & Kim Ann Foxxman. They are currently on a world tour in support of the album, out now on EMI/DFA.
